Racism and gender biase threats are used to manipulate your vote.

Monday, December 31st, 2007

Enough is enough, I ‘m not taking any more. The 2008 elections around the corner and the issues are not issues anymore.

Hey folks coming back from yet another post in a forum on MySpace. In the past few weeks it seems the issues have become less important than gender and race and that presidential candidates would rather have your sympathy than respect.

There have been dozens of forums and blogs and even news coverage suggesting that votes against Hillary are men being sexist and votes against Barrack Obama are whites and Hispanics being racist???? It couldn’t just be that we see better candidates for president.

The last forum was another outcry for elect Hillary as the first woman president because she’s a woman. I wrote the following reply and hope you agree and will help make sure we go to the polls on issues and not race or gender.

In this race it’s not a matter of gender at all. Hillary is not the first woman to run and by far not the most qualified to become president. The questions are not gender in this race, but how many lies and flawed plans, how many failures on health-care, and how many changed opinions based on polls can female voters ignore before they start voting against Hillary. We should not elect Barrack because he’s black or Hillary for what’s between her legs, we need a leader regardless of gender with something between their ears.

The greatest girl in the world.

Thursday, December 27th, 2007

Yes folks, 7 years ago I met a girl who changed my life.

Seven years ago I met this beautiful young woman who would change my life forever for the good. She had a child but I didn’t care, it was not the best time in my life either as I was unemployed, had gotten out of a bad relationship of 2.5 years just 8 months earlier and had decided the single life was for me. I was dating a new girl most nights when I still had my restaurant but since losing it I had been alone.

Picture me, scruffy beard, worn clothes, and hanging with bikers and barmaids. I cursed too much and drank too much and had more than my share of fights. I was as tough as nails and she melted my heart in what seems like seconds.

Her brother was and is one of my biker bro’s and he and I would raise the roof and get rowdy. We chased the girls and drank straight whiskey most nights of the week. Then his sister came to visit.

She had had a rough life too, many men had used and abused her, she wore black make-up and was depressed all the time, so me being me I made it my task to make her smile and after 3 nights of talking til dawn she did and I knew I had to have her. I had sworn off relationships and had spent 7 months seeking sex and nothing more but she was so different from anyone I had ever known.

She was only to be in town 6 weeks and it took me of all people 5 weeks to get the nerve to ask her out. When she said she would only go out with me if her son was OK with it I was scared, but Stevie thought it was cool. I scraped up the money for a couple drinks and we went to Karaoke. I sang to her and she turned beat red nearly had to chase her out of the bar she was so embarrassed but she stayed and I was so glad she did.

In a weeks time we went everywhere and on the night before she left for Yuma she vowed that she would move up to Quartzsite with her brother to be near me. The two weeks she was gone was pure hell and I wrote her every day and she wrote me nearly as often. Within a couple weeks of her return I moved in. now we were not saints and she got pregnant, I proposed but she was afraid that it was only because of the baby. I was hurt but stayed with her.

As time went by 5 weeks from conception she lost the baby and it hit us hard but we stuck together and I asked for her hand again, this time she said yes. My folks talked her into getting married on their anniversary, Dec. 28th 2000. this year marks 7 for us, with 5 beautiful children and a love that grows stronger each and every day. I would not trade one ounce of experience, one challenge, or one failure if it meant losing her and my babies.

Cary, I want you to know and the world to share how happy I am and how much I love you. Happy anniversary baby.

Andy

My Christmas 2007 was awesome, please read.

Wednesday, December 26th, 2007

Hey folks,

Just had to share the most memorable moments to Christmas 2007 and I hope you will share yours as well.

My oldest son Robert is 3. On Christmas eve I asked my 4 oldest, ” Are you excited? Tomorrow’s Christmas and Santa Clause will be bringing you new toys tonight.”. The girls all said yes but Robert who we call Ribby short for Robert the Ribbit because of some frog like moves when he was learning to crawl, said no and started to cry. I said, ” You don’t want new toys Ribby?” and he said “No I want Santa to make me a real cowboy.”

I went on to tell him that Santa seems to know these things and can work a little magic, “I would not be surprised if tomorrow when you wake up if you are a real cowboy.” So Ribby says “OK” and falls asleep.

Yesterday morning he is opening gifts and the first couple are regular toys and he starts to pout but is determined to open the rest before he starts to cry. Then he opens a cowboy hat and the smirk starts, he tears through the rest and by the time he is done he has six guns, a big badge, a rifle, and a bandanna. He just had to put them on.

Ribby comes over to me with this huge smile and says ” Wow Santa made me a real cowboy!” So now little Ribby is known to us out west as Cowboy Robert, Marshall of Deadwood.
