Were economic stimulous packages a success?

Monday, August 11th, 2008

Stimulus packages are short term fixes that have achieved results, but are not long term. As long as 35% of all income is drawn into the federal government before we get a chance to spend that money we will continue to lose.
Many voices on sites like MySpace.com have stepped forward trying to downplay the effects of the economic stimulus packages Americans like you and me received this summer. There are folks saying they spent $900 on foreign made junk sending the dollars overseas or they paid a few bills they were behind on and the dollar stopped there. Heck, one guy even claimed that despite the fact he bought down 3 debts to the point that they will be paid off this month saving him $500 a month that the stimulus package did nothing to help him. Wow get a grip.

Take into account the last guy, the 5th poster on this page.

If in fact he applied the money to 3 debts and is now in position to pay them off faster, he has save interest and penalties, and positioned himself to be $500 a month richer thanks to money he did not have prior to the stimulus packages being released. Others talking about the foreign goods they bought forget it takes a store full of employees, several warehouses, U.S. shipping ports, Tarrifs, Legal teams, and banks on US ground to get those products to the point you can buy them. Fact is that pennies on the dollar actually make it to foreign soil. Worse yet, many of those products are no longer made here thanks to high cost of labor, ( thank the unions) and difficult laws and taxation that make doing business in places like China and India more appealing to business owners. Still many Americans got paid because Congress and the President took action.

Still these effects are short term fixes. Once the checks are all spent there is nothing to look forward to in the future and business as usual resumes. Changing tax laws and lowering taxes across the board though achieves a far greater benefit as it is one businesses and investors can count on for years to come, making expansion and local  manufacture more appealing. See some examples of solid economics and how they could turn our economy around below.

The debate over abolishing income tax in favor of a national sales tax has been sidetracked by lies and bad figures. following a dollar on www.wheresgeorge.com will show you that the average dollar is spent not less than 8-12 times in the course of a year. Putting more dollars into the economy and letting people spend them would only require a modest federal sales tax.

The average state tax on sales is around 5%, if you add up the sales tax revenues of all states and then add an additional 35% to the total dollars in the system, you will see a closer number to the potential a 5% sales tax could be bringing in. The numbers amount to far more than the current tax system and the plan would help Americans at all levels of income.

Turning the economy around requires curbing waste spending, and reducing federal government turning many agencies into funneling bodies for cash. We can curb cost and create jobs by putting more dollars into the system permanently where they can be invested on expansion and business creation. I know if I had those few dollars extra coming in that go to taxes, my family would live better and want for less. Being able to provide a better life for my family puts those dollars to work for all of us.

People are scared of change and look for ways we could fail, they often ignore ways to succeed because the change is so different from what they know. From personal retirement accounts to 401K plans we could all be seeing a more secure future, but most opt for federal guaranteed social security etc.. that has been tapped into and under funded for so long it may run out before we reach the now late 60s early 70s needed to even qualify.

A good plan for individual retirement would require that the upper income ladder contribute a portion of their personal savings to a economic equalization plan. Sort of like a tax on large savings accounts that could be spread among those who are on the low end of the earnings scale. Using accounts like 401K shored up with a mix of bonds on a set percentage could see enormous growth while providing stability. People able to add 30-60 thousand a year to a retirement account paying 5-10% of that money into equalization funds would help those of us who fall short on earnings and contribution.

The best part about either of these two plans is that we decide where our money is best spent and not some federal official.

Alternative Search Engines are they better?

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008

Alternative search engines extended service and added value to advertisers.

Alternative search engines provide a reprieve from the money searches provided by the major services like Google, Yahoo, and MSN. For the user the benefits are plain to see. Many of these alternative search engines get their results from actual traffic stats and spydering the content to find real matches to your search terms.

If you have ever heard the term PPC Search Engine or Pay Per Click Search Engine you know that these major engines provide sponsored results that are paid for by advertisers, sometimes taking up the first few pages when you search. The only qualification to get listed on the first page in many engines is the ability to buy ads. Even con-artist can buy ads, so sponsored listings are no more credible than actual search results.

Many Alternative Search Engines exist on the web and while they may be lesser known, they provide added service by showing fewer paid ads and more direct results that truly offer you the best websites and services on the web.

Australia based Easy Search Live for example offers 100% traffic and content based results, and the Live View windows allow you to open a frame and visit multiple sites at a time without leaving the search page. They do offer Pay Per Click Contextual Advertising Above the results and beside the listings but it is clear which sites earned the rights to be number 1 in the listings.

If you like to shop online you will find Live View a must have tool. Run a search for the product you are looking for, open the live view for the top 10 sites and compare prices and features. When you are done making your selection you can even make a secure purchase without leaving the results page for Easy Search Live, leaving you free to shop for something else or if your shopping is done you can search for any interest.

From and Advertisers standpoint Advertising on Alternative Search Engines saves money and reaches new people. Major Search Engines like Google and Yahoo can cost in excess of $10 for a single visitor in a hot niche. Your keyword bids could cost you thousands of dollars a month. Smaller services may offer slightly slower delivery at a huge savings. Just do the math, if 100 advertisers bid a penny more on a single keyword or search term, the cost per click or visitor would reach $1 or more in a short period of time. If 1,000 do the same penny each you get ten dollar keywords.

Smaller PPC advertising networks tend to be used by fewer advertisers and thus bid prices are lower. Many of these networks offer the same highly targeted advertising and post great traffic numbers and visitor counts but because of lesser brand recognition are skipped by the major advertisers that drive keyword bids up. This makes Alternative Search Engines and lesser known Pay Per Click and Contextual Advertising Networks a fertile battle field for today’s small and home based business.

Article Marketing How To.

Monday, April 21st, 2008

Article marketing is more for those wishing to brand a name or business for the future, establish trust, or build quality one way links back to a website for SEO benefits. Experts agree that Article marketing is the best path to a sustained online business and a valuable search engine optimization tool for any webmaster.

Articles rich in related keywords and full of quality content brand you as an expert and provide the highest quality of one way links on the web today. Article submission is a means of giving away free content to be added to potentially millions of websites in exchange for a one way link in the authors about box. Again Article marketing is not advertising.

A proper article would relate to the field or niche a website falls under, is keyword rich, and provides the best information possible in a format around 400-500 words.Article Distribution is achieved through top notch Article directories, and the best utilize ping services to instantly notify search engines and other directories about new content.

For Example our own free article directory uses Feed Burner to instantly share your articles with thousands of search engines and tens of thousands of content directories, and also allows instant low cost submission to over 300 of the webs best Article sites. Notice there is no link in that section nor did we give the name as this is not an advertisement, it is a prime example of article marketing in action.

Now, adding links can be done in two fashions. The method offering the highest value is linked text within the article such as the link added to Article Directory typed in bold text. This helps search engines spyder the links and highlight them as the primary focus of the content. This option will attract fewer postings of your articles but will get the best results in click through and SEO of the two options as the reader is involved in the article content. Out of respect, if possible set the link to open in another window by selecting open in _blank as a link option. This will increase the number of re-post as the visitor can see your site but still remain on the directories website to read more great articles.

The second linking option in Articles is called the Author’s Resource Box or Signature Box. By adding a link here that opens in a new window you preserve the value of the primary article while offering the reader a chance to get to know you better if they like what they have read. Again regardless of the method you use articles are a great way to market your internet presence for free, and high quality article directories with free and low cost submission options can get your links on potentially millions of websites.

Example:

My Name

My Experience

For more great content visit my website at www.mysite.com

Don’t worry I will show a live About box below this article.

From an SEO standpoint Articles are the best method of one way link because most are used as stand alone pages or grouped with other related content that pushes targeted visitors to the links. The difference is like adding a link to a site about Hair Care while promoting Styling Gel, versus the same link on one about online video games. If your links are contained in keyword rich articles related to your websites topics any site displaying the article becomes a more valuable resource to you by sending interested readers to your programs and websites.

Traffic Fire Storm enters pre-launch.

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

From the minds of Andy Zeus Anderson and Dale Ol Tex Anderson comes a new traffic system destined to be one of the most talked about sites on the web.

Traffic Fire Storm is here and a great deal is planned before the official launch date that will be set soon. From free traffic generation to downline builders and contest galore, FTS is going strong and ready to deliver great advertising rewards.  For more details I have included my first message to our members below.

Welcome folks to Traffic Fire Storm.

I wanted to touch base with you on a few quick tips.

The first thing members need to do is surf 50 sites to become fully activated. This will allow you to gain your sign up award credits, start referring, and add sites.

When you add your websites please save us all time and headache and make sure they meet our simple terms. Also remember to add credits so others can visit them.

It is in everyone’s best interest to send new members to TFS. Even free members earn credits from a 5 level downline, all the way up to Platinum members earning from 15 levels.

The power is simple. let’s look at just getting 5 who get 5 down 5 levels.
LVL1=   5
LVL2=  25
LVL3= 125
LVL4= 625
LVL5=3125
That’s a whoping 3,905 people earning you traffic every day and all you sent was 5 new members. Imagine that kind of math down 15 level as a Platinum member. More than 1 million potential members could be in you matrix and earning you countless visitors per day.

We also have progressive surfing bonuses. Every 50 sites you surf your ratio increases. Every consecutive day you surf it goes up even more. This exchange gives even free members ton’s of potential in traffic earnings that will keep you and your downline surfing here.

One more quick note. There are programs beginning to be listed in the downline builder. If you are in them or decide to join them and put your links there, your downline will see and join under you. If you don’t those members go to your upline, so don’t give money and traffic away, grab yours today.

New Years 2008 message.

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Hey folks,

About 23 minutes ago we rang in the new year. 2007 was trying at times and saw a lot of changes, it is arguably one of our toughest years but each challenge made us stronger.

2008 looks to be an amazing year, from the projected payout of an investment made on our behalf by a friend to the rate of speed at which Easy Search Live is being reviewed and gaining traffic daily, to IYN and the projected launch of their Wireless products. This year could put us on the map with more than our fair share of blessings.

I hope that each and every one of you also came out of 2007 with something learned, a heart full of love, the love of another, and the blessings of family. May your 2008 bring prosperity and freedom and more love and understanding.

My final shout out is to our beloved troops around the world. We are safer and more secure because of your role in the global fight on terror, may your 2008 bring many more victories and cripple the axis of terror and evil leaving them as a lesser threat to mankind, and may it see many of you home with family ahead of projections. Above all we love you and have the utmost respect and faith in your ability and diligence to get the job done. God bless each and every one of you.

Review Directory Submitter, free software for webmasters.

Saturday, November 10th, 2007

You may or may not know that Website Directory Submission is quickly becoming
a very popular and easy way to get quality, one way links to your website.

These kind of links are exactly what the search engines are looking for. The
websites with more quality, one way links are typically the sites that rank
the highest, period.

With that said, there are several websites dircetory submission programs on
the market. The best and easiest to use is a new program created by Brad Callen,
called Directory Submitter.

The software currently contains around 1700 website directories, all free.
It is the most straightforward program that we’ve come across, in that all you
need to do is:

1. Input your website details (i.e. title, description, URL, etc.) into the
software

2. Click on the directory you want to submit to

And then the program will automatically fill in your website details. Then,
you simply click the submit button and your website is instantly submitted to
the directory. Then, you can move to the next directory, go through the list,
and by the time you’re finished you’ll have roughly 1500 one way links pointing
to your website.

I can’t think of an easier way to get links. Of course, if you’re going to
get links this quickly, it’s important to vary your website title (anchor text)
every 20-30 links or so, to make things look more natural to the search engines.

You can do this very easily via Directory
Submitter
when you create your project in the beginning.

The software is constantly being updated and their is an incredible community
of users established that all work together to make the software better and
better, so you know you’re getting great value for the money.

Google’s new rules on PR. Paid links Good or Bad?

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Google’s new rule have many up in arms.

Google the world’s leading search provider has made change to their search engine that resulted in many websites losing valuable page rank. Page rank being your position in their engine and search results and a loss meaning you could receive less traffic.

The new changes are targeted at websites and blogs with paid links including affiliate links. Many believe that this is a conflict of interest being that Google is in the business of providing paid links and controls the lions share of the market. Plain and simple if the paid links on your website come from other sources besides the Google Adwords program your odds of obtaining a a high search engine ranking on Google are now lower than ever.

Microsoft not too long ago ran into serious legal troubles when they tried to force other software providers to use a paid API to integrate with the Windows operating system. If this policy were to have been allowed, roughly 80% of all personal computers would be shipped with only Microsoft approved or supplied programs and Microsoft would earn income from nearly all software manufactured or sold world wide.

Monopolies are against the fair trade act, yet this action would mandate that in order for a webmaster to earn income from their websites and blogs they would have to choose one of 2 options. The first option is to accept pennies instead of dollars and go all Google Adwords for income sacrificing paid post and affiliate programs often paying hundreds for PPC revenue at a rate of pennies. This option would allow them to place higher in Google searches and garner more traffic and allow Google to earn cash every time they earn money with their website.

The other option is to choose higher paying pay for post opportunities and affiliate links and accept lower rankings in Google Search leading to less traffic to their websites. For many the drop could be enough to lower their overall earnings and mandate that they pay for sponsor ads to regain their ranks in Google. Again, Google wins and the little guy loses.

I am risking my status as a Adwords publisher and my very rank in Google and possibly could even be removed from their search results entirely by publishing this article. The problem is I stand to lose far more by following their policy and removing the paid links and affiliate programs from this website. These links provide much needed income for my family and offer opportunity for many to improve their quality of life by starting their own home based business.

Google already has rules that restrict me from using many free advertising resources such as traffic and visitor exchanges, safe e-mail list, and even limit’s the number of incoming links from sites like FFA and Classifieds websites they consider link farms. These rules serve to make it near impossible for a webmaster to avoid paid search engine listings to receive traffic and thus get high rankings. In short, if you are not paying Google and they are not earning income from you, they don’t want your websites and blogs online.

Our only recourse in this matter would be to lodge complaints with the Corporation Commission and FCC about this policy leading towards monopolizing the internet advertising market and hope for some resolve before many of us are forced out of business.

If I am removed from Google or banned from Adwords I will post their notice here for all to see. I will draw your attention to the fact that currently I am earning from the Adwords program though in 4 months time I have yet to earn enough to reach a $50 minimum paycheck. I must also disclose that as of about 3 weeks ago I have taken the helm of PPC Advertising for Easy Search Live and will also be heading their new auto response mailing services. My goal within the next few months is to build these services to the point where I can replace the Google ads entirely. Regardless of my position at ESL, Google’s new policies currently effect my personal websites and income and can be a factor in yours.

The Dark Side of Internet Marketing

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

I’m only going to address one item from “the Dark Side” in this article - it’s been happening a lot lately, so has again risen to priority status in my mind.

There’s a conventional wisdom that says, “Don’t tell’em who you are” when you send a initial email in response to an ad you see on the Internet. MANY people in the industry support this bit of “wisdom”.

It really goes like this: “Find an interesting ad, send an introductory email sounding like you want information about the business, and then when you get it, decide which group you belong to fits the business, and offer membership in that group touting how much it will help the person’s business.”

Why is this a pet peeve of mine? Because over 4 years I’ve seen a rise in Internet deceptiveness, and this fits that category. I’ve seen the same people advocate asking the universe to bring you what you want, with promises that when it does you’ll share the abundance. Nice sentiment, unless followed by subtle training in being deceptive, as described above.

Remember please, that what goes around, comes around.

Remember the famous ad campaign, “Don’t mess with mother nature?!” When you ask God, or the universe, or your higher power for something, that asking is REAL. It has an effect. If you are deceptive, you may get your request answered - but you don’t know by whom and you don’t know what’s coming around the corner.

It’s not rocket science - if I want to fill a downline and practice even slightly deceptive maneuvers to get it done, who is my downline filled with? You got it, I’m sure. This practice doesn’t develop a downline of hard working, straight-forward folks.

Now, admittedly this is a little complex. I don’t always give out the name of one of my companies in an introductory email, because I want the opportunity to show the lead the details of why my business has something special to offer they haven’t seen before. But I don’t pose as one thing, and then turn out to be something else. When you respond to one of my ads, you find a serious business person on the other end of the email exchange or phone call.

Because I believe in a personal touch, I spend my time tailoring my response to the needs of the inquiry, and send it off thinking I’m might have a prospect to talk to in a day or so. The email I get back -quickly - is an offer to join the group, where I’ll benefit by exposure to “thousands” of serious buyers and joiners.

Let me be clear: it’s the deception, not the groups, that I have trouble with. If you’re going to send an email to someone who took the time to write an ad, maybe even paid for it - be honest enough to say what you’re representing upfront.

Why? Because if you do, and you did a good job with your email, I might respond positively. And if you do, I might say, “Gee, I already belong to that group” or simply “No thanks” FOLLOWED by - “but I appreciate your offer and wonder if there’s anything else we can collaborate on, or any way in which we can help each other?”

Deception = lost opportunity and a weak downline.

Honesty = open doors to new opportunities, solid relationship building, and ultimately, greater success in the areas that matter most, including but not limited to financial success.

Stay in the Light, and out of the Dark Side.

To your very great success!

Should I concentrate on one opportunity or choose many?

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

Plain and simple, your program you are in probably tells you that you can only focus on them if you want to be successful. Not even close to true. Why limit yourself to one stream of income, when one can pave the way for more?

Ever notice that most of these companies are owned by parent companies that own multiple companies and websites? Why should you follow their advise to focus on one thing and do it well, when they them selves don’t? These companies know that there is a set of basic rules to success.

Rules:

1. Own the product.

2. Build the sales force, (You).

3. Keep the sales force, Done by paying you enough to stay with them, but never enough to retire, or go into business for yourself. They tell you that you must be committed to building their business and not pay attention to other offers because they want 100% of any success you achieve to put dollars in their pockets. They want you to stay in their program, and not leave for more money, they want a sales force with built in blinders never seeing life outside the company.

4. Diversify. Don’t have too much money tied up in one product or strategy, create and maintain multiple stream income. They do it, but tell you no.

5. Have an exit strategy. When a publicly held company enters a new business venture they have to send a proposal to the members of the board of directors. Directors are primary shareholders holding majority interest, either by themselves or combined that make a ruling on the companies direction. In this report they have to provide a full business plan, WHO’S in charge, WHERE that target audience, offices, and operations will be, WHAT the product or service is and why it is in high demand, WHEN they will enter the market and how that timing relates to good sound business practices, WHY that timing is right, and projections to show the value of the offer. The final section must contain a FTC required exit strategy.

Exit Strategy: Large companies start planning on going out of business before they go into business.

The look at the cost to enter the market, the average life of companies in the market, the time to needed recoup cost, the amount of targeted profits required by investors, and how and when the program will end and they can pull out with those profits in hand.

I know you have seen this in action, if you read the business section of your local paper. You see companies sell strong subsidiary companies that are in the black but seeing a decline. The stock is still high, and they reap huge profits from the sales during their ownership. The companies that buy these venture buy them for one of 2 reasons.

1. They are a management group, looking to restructure, the existing focus of the company or capitalize on the pre-built brand name to introduce a new product or service.

2. They are a salvage firm, that looks at value in each component, all real estate, and licensing from a stand point of if I break it into 5 pieces and sell each, will I make more than the value of the whole. You will see a great deal of ventures that have been purchased by a firm with this mindset self off several high value aspects of the company. In the mean time they establish the company as a independent entity transferring debts and loosing ventures to it’s holdings, and will either use it as a tax write off, selling or operating it as a loss, or they will file for bankruptcy and claim the loss while ridding themselves of debts.

I know I strayed a little off course, but I wanted to share some economics 101 with you so you can see what will happen to your business venture once it becomes less profitable, or begins to even lose money for the owners.

The exit strategy includes how they will strip mine the remaining value and integrate it into ether the existing company or use it to start a new Venture. A good example would be one that Gerald English and I discussed on the phone a while back. A major water filter company who pioneered that market in MLM had seen major declines in sales and profits, they have been bought and sold at least 3 times since I left my MLM position with them in 1996. Gerald was telling me they have restructured and now sell a multi vitamin as well as maintaining the most profitable products from the filter business. Chances are that if I had stayed with them, I would have been slowly introduced into the new product line, and eventually weened off of selling filters, I would now be earning 100% of my pay from vitamins, and still depend on them for income.

So when your company says the only way to earn is stay focused on one program, have only the one income, don’t dilute the waters. They mean you, not them.

Another quick example is Wal-Mart. Wal-mart started as a small 5&10 store, as they grew from concepts of great service and low prices, they saw benefits in owning their own warehouses and distribution centers, and set on a clear path to save money and pass that savings on to you.

Besides that the Wal-Mart trucks you see on the road are only part of the fleet, as they own large portions of trucking companies such a Werner and Fleetline. They found many of the businesses they chose to do business with struggling and even failing, many of their suppliers are now owned or partially owned by them. From Ol’ Roy dog food to GV Brands products, Wal-Mart gains income from both the supply and demand ends of retail and even wholesale trades. They are both importer and exporter, and have fluent multi stream income in the billions. Others have failed along the way because they were only retailers, they only manufactured one product, only provided one service.

Big business is diverse, and multi streamed and yours should be too.
