Let me tell you a story about an Internet marketer who lived the dream of every Internet Marketer, then lost it all and had to rebuild.

Our story is one of adversity and challenges, struggles and faith. A story about renewed determination and a mission to return to the life once live by bringing along as many other Internet Marketers and dreamers as humanly possible.

A little over 5 years ago I started marketing online, working as an affiliate and using a free website from Yahoo, then later Free Webs and Tri-Pod from Lycos. I was a 14 year veteran of management but had never marketed online and was in total awe and culture shock, the Internet was quite a challenge in breaking from all I knew to deal with people world wide electronically.

I had no real money to speak of, these Guru’s kept telling me how they had lost thousands before finding success and I didn’t have thousands to lose. I played the part of Joe Freebie joining free programs, staying free, and using free resources to try and make a dime for nearly 2 years while I learned. In that time frame I began giving away the same information I was learning and built a strong following of friends.

There were some tough times and like you have read before from many I almost gave up on Internet Marketing all together. Internet Marketers either earned millions or dimes and I was earning neither, though every program I was in I had 30-40 people in my downline, and some of them had paid to upgrade but had not earned a minimum payout in any of a dozen programs.

One day I was introduced to the owner of the original Money Train, where I was taken under the wing and given a paid position to help me start my success story. That same year I began talking to the late Cory Rudl in several forums and groups where we both were members and taking notes along the way. My year of learning was a whirlwind chase for information and knowledge. There were many truths out there that I had been skirting so close too but always over looking.

I learned a few Internet Marketing facts I will share as a quick note:

Fact one: Every Internet Marketer needs multiple streams of income to stay at the top of their game for long. ( Had that somewhat, 12 programs I was close to a payout in.)

Fact two: Every Internet Marketer needs residual monthly income to fill in where sales are slow, and provide a safety net for bad days.

Fact three: You must stay active and provide active support to your referrals.

Fact four: You need a home on the web, a place to draw it all together, a traffic generating funnel that you must own. Your own website.

The wife and I hit the ground running on this new found knowledge.

We started PMT safelist and created a website at andersonmegamall.com to sell products and built those two into our next network. See the safelist was earning some money but the mall site was earning bits and pieces. I developed a brand behind my marketing name Andy Zeus Anderson, so the following continued to grow. We dropped the mall site and went into GDI during the early days and did pretty good. Problem is that GDI like most programs has a major drawback. Sorry GDI folks but it’s true. There is never anything new there, it’s a domain name and cheap hosting for the price of good hosting with fewer tools and a promise of residual income from selling it. As the market got tight and our downline was not making a profit it eroded layer by layer. Support and contact were time consuming and I didn’t have too much time with the job I was working.

Many of you right now are saying hey that sounds like me and where I am at, so are remembering those days, and some are afraid they are heading there themselves.

GDI did provide some great tools though in knowledge gained. First off we discovered the power of residual income and second we found many new ideas coming from members to promote our systems and funnel traffic to our offers. We also found secondary income through PPC advertising and learned a ton about lead capture.

As time flew by we began seeing a limit to the time in which we would be in profit with GDI, and began building towards the future. Still had PMT Safelist and Zeus.WS, so we began looking at other programs to add to the mix. A good friend introduced us to It’s Your Net, and took me on a 3D Tour, I was hooked, and shared it with Gerald English, my dearest friend and fellow network marketer. Gerald is one of the best phone closers I have ever had the pleasure to work with. We both saw gold in IYN.

We needed a system to funnel traffic into this find and needed it fast.

I had picked up a script for a traffic exchange and was mulling ideas on shared training and teamwork. Zeus Team Concepts was born on Zeus.WS and it provided a feeder to a community we developed on new domain ZTCUSA.com, our first membership site. Add another domain and we now have ZTCUSA, ZTC Traffic, PMT Safelist, and Zeus.WS all pointing towards IYN.

I also had 30 people I still could count on to join just about anything I was in and they helped build ZTCUSA, and ZTC Traffic in a very short time to a good marketing system. When Gerald and I went into IYN we set our sites on doing virtual tours with small groups of people and this system spelled instant success. On day 8 we both upgraded, on the 15^th day from the first time I saw It’s Your Net and the 7^th day after upgrading I was in profit, 3 days later Gerald was in profit and we have been in profit since.

Meanwhile ZTC and ZTC traffic began to grow, a new script was added to ZTCUSA and Internet Marketers had a new home, and online community of shared resources built for them by one of them. Our income was growing and in January 2007 with tax returns and closing my 401K, plus selling off stocks and a big bonus check Cary and I decided that with nearly 10,000 in the bank and a steady income online I would quite my day job and work from home 100% of the time. It was the most liberating experience I have felt since the births of our 5 children, ranking right up there with our wedding day. Success was ours, we were free.

Then hard times came and our success eroded.

About 6 months later I was helping the police round up my brother in laws dog. The dog got lose and I tackled him to the ground. My whole body seemed to pop at once and I re-injured 5 disk between the neck and back that were hurt in an auto accident in 2004. I was in enormous pain and could barely walk. I spent the next 3 months in physical therapy, on bed rest, and heavily medicated. Andy Zeus Anderson couldn’t even work from home.

Remember what I told you above, active support and leadership are required to be a success.

Well I was not there to support or lead and basically disappeared on my team for most of 3 months. They became disgruntled and started walking away until the only things we were in profit in were IYN and a slim margin in ZTCUSA.com but hardly enough to support 5 kids and a wife. It broke my heart but I had to sell my beloved Zeus Team Concepts and it’s network of website so we could move back to Arizona where I could find work.

Can’t keep old Zeus down though.

The sale gave us a little over what we needed for the trip to AZ and before leaving I bought 3 domains with 3 months hosting to plan for the future and my return. I was without a PC the first month and began blogging my heart out upon my return to rebuild the lost respect and re-establish my name as an expert in Internet Marketing.  Dad and I have started Traffic Fire Storm, a manual traffic exchange, and I have joined the team at DG Innovations on their search engine projects at Easy Search Live and Kooiii.com.

The road back has been long and hard, and growth is sometimes almost a crawl, but we keep plugging. We are still successful in IYN . We have been working hard to bring new programs and new information to the internet in hopes of rebuilding our business and growing the team of professionals we can count on.

My goals are less about me, and more about us. Having tasted success and the feeling of firing the boss I am driven to help others feel that way too. I am not promising overnight success, or million dollar paychecks. There will be no get rich quick or the other lies told on the web. You are not working with a Internet Marketing Guru or even a self made millionaire.
